The ACC (Architectural Control Committee) is assigned the responsibility to approve or disapprove plans for any house, outbuilding, carport, fence, addition, improvement or other structure proposed or existing on any lot as well as any improvement (boat docks & retaining walls) requiring the approval of the (TRWD) Tarrant Regional Water District. If remodeling inside the exterior walls of structure, then approval generally is not required but is recommended to contact a board member if in doubt.
Prior to beginning any project, the resident is required to submit construction plans, plot plans, blueprints, ,specifications and other such documents to the ACC. If the ACC feels it has adequate information to declare a decision, it will notify the resident of its approval/disapproval within 30 days. Response times are generally within days for smaller, more straightforward projects. It is the ACC's intent that this process be transparent and sufficiently detailed to render a decision, but not burdensome on the resident.
The ACC is designed to protect the value of the neighborhood, and to help ensure each improvement adheres to CCRs that have been adopted by the community. Failure to seek approval from the ACC may result in costly construction adjustments and in some cases may result in court intervention.
On the Construction Approval page, you can view all the CCRs (Convenants, Conditions, and Restrictions). Also, you may also want to refer to the Tarrant Regional Water District website which you can link from the homepage or the Construction Approval page.
